One story for web, store, and everything in between

Omnichannel is not a buzzword when stock is wrong and loyalty only works online. Merchant Support Systems is built for merchants who sell online, offline, or both — with channels on the product, not bolted on later.

One catalog and loyalty story across web and store — products tagged by channel.

Pain points we design around

These show up in weekly standups long before anyone says “unified commerce.”

  • Split customer identity

Online loyalty does not follow the shopper to the counter. Staff cannot recognize members or apply rewards consistently, so the program feels broken even when the app “works.”

  • Inventory reconciliation theater

Web and store stock diverge by end of day. Oversells, manual spreadsheets, and “is this available?” become unpaid jobs for managers.

  • Channel-blind reporting

Dashboards treat “the store” as one number. You cannot see which products are online-only, offline-only, or both — or how each channel grows.

How MSS approaches it

  • Products tagged by how you sell

Catalog channels — online, offline, or both — so loyalty rules and trend views match reality, not a pure DTC fantasy.

  • Loyalty as a business system

Members, points, and program health that owners can inspect. Designed for multi-channel redemption paths as integrations land.

  • Trends across the whole catalog

Inventory growth and benchmarks that include what moves in-store, not only what sells on the website.

Common scenarios

  • DTC brand opening a first store

Ecommerce is mature; foot traffic is new. You need inventory truth and a loyalty story that does not train customers to only buy online.

  • Retailer with a website that finally works

In-store is still most of revenue. Online is growing fast enough to break spreadsheet inventory and orphan loyalty.

  • Multi-location with shared brand

Each site has habits. Owners need roll-up health; managers need local action lists without losing the whole-network view.

Design principles

These guide product choices so we do not accidentally ship another web-only dashboard.

  • One catalog, many channels

A product can be online-only, offline-only, or both. Reports and AI should respect that attribute instead of assuming everything is web-first.

  • One loyalty narrative

Earn and burn rules may differ by channel over time, but membership and program health should not require two logins and two truths.

  • Actions for people who run the floor

Insights that only make sense to a growth marketer fail in retail. Managers need plain-language next steps.

  • Integrations over reinvention

POS and storefront remain systems of record for checkout. MSS sits above them as the ops and insight layer.

Shopify POS and multi-channel brands

If you already run Shopify (and especially Shopify POS), start on our Shopify solution page. The product goal is the same: loyalty and inventory that respect every channel. Pure offline retailers adding a site should read offline → online.

Frequently asked questions

Do you replace my POS?
No. POS and ecommerce platforms remain where transactions happen. MSS is designed to interpret loyalty and inventory growth across channels — not to process payments at the counter.
What if online and offline use different systems today?
That is common (e.g. Shopify online + separate POS). Our channel model and roadmap assume messy reality first; full real-time sync depends on which systems you connect. The product UI already makes channel explicit.
Is omnichannel only for large retailers?
No. Even a single boutique with a website is omnichannel in practice. Complexity appears early — often right when the second channel starts working.
How does this relate to BOPIS and returns?
Buy-online-pickup-in-store and cross-channel returns are classic stress tests for inventory and customer experience. MSS does not claim to operate fulfillment in v1; it aims to surface inventory risk and loyalty friction that those flows create.
