Industry signals

  • Outdoor / lifestyle — online attach rising
  • Home goods — mid-ticket turns improving
  • General retail — loyalty outpacing traffic
Inventory growth index and industry signals (illustrative demo charts).
  • Growth and risk, not only quantity

Spot SKUs that are climbing, stalling, or at risk of stockouts so restock and promo decisions are grounded in movement — not gut feel alone.

  • Channel-aware catalog

Products tagged online, offline, or both keep trend views honest when you sell in more than one place.

  • Industry context

Benchmark-style cards give owners a second opinion when exploring categories or expanding channels — demo data today, richer signals later.

Signal types we care about

Names may evolve; the intent stays: make the catalog legible for decisions.

  • Climbers

SKUs with accelerating movement — candidates for deeper stock, better placement, or loyalty spotlight.

  • Stallers

Items that stopped growing. Decide: promote, bundle, discount carefully, or stop replenishing.

  • Risk

Thin cover relative to velocity. Prevent oversells and emergency freight before customers feel it.

  • Channel skew

Products that sell almost entirely online or offline. Useful when planning assortment and photo/ops investment.

Workflows that use trends

  • Weekly ops review

Manager scans climbers and risk SKUs, adjusts purchase orders or floor priority, notes exceptions for the owner.

  • Category expansion

Owner compares internal growth to industry-style context before committing capital to a new line.

  • Loyalty alignment

Pair rewards and promos with climbers you want to reinforce — or with stallers you intend to clear thoughtfully.

  • Channel launch

When going online or offline with existing products, use tags and trends so you do not treat every SKU the same.

What this is not

  • Not a WMS

We are not bin locations, pick paths, or warehouse robotics. Those stay with specialized tools when you need them.

  • Not pure accounting stock

Financial inventory valuation is adjacent. Our focus is growth, risk, and decisions for merchants running sell-side operations.

  • Not a replacement for PO tools

Purchase workflows may integrate later. First we make the “what deserves attention” list legible.

Products + trends together

The products surface ( /app/products) holds channel tags. Trends ( /app/trends) interpret movement. Together they support omnichannel and offline → online journeys.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the inventory data come from?
Today: demo data so you can evaluate the UX. Next: connected platforms (Shopify first) and merchant-entered channel tags. Accuracy depends on source systems — we surface trends on top of them.
How are industry benchmarks calculated?
Current cards are illustrative. The product direction is curated, honest context for small and mid merchants — not fake precision. Methodology will be documented when live feeds ship.
Can I see multi-location inventory?
Multi-store is on the Scale-oriented roadmap. The channel model (online/offline/both) ships first because it matches how many growing brands actually sell.
How does this relate to AI insights?
Trends provide the quantitative backdrop; AI analysis turns patterns into ranked actions (e.g. which risk SKUs to address first). See the AI insights product page and /app/ai-demo.
